Brief History of Reiki:
Reiki is an ancient Japanese technique that encourages healing. Rei-ki literally translates to mean "universal life energy"; Rei meaning "universal" and Ki meaning "life energy". For over the past 10 years, Winding Roads’ Reiki Practitioners have been practicing Usui Reiki, which was founded by Dr. Mikao Usui (aka. Usui Sensei) back in the early 1900s. Dr. Usui was a successful businessman when life’s "winding road" turned him down the path to become a Reiki Master and Teacher. The practitioners at "Winding Roads" are honored to share Usui Reiki with our clients.
How can Reiki help you?
Utilized to increase energy flow allowing Reiki to heal and help elevate and/or maintain positive energy levels, Reiki has helped clients: reduce stress, increase artistic ability, lower arthritis pain, aide in musical creativity, gain insight, gain clarity, increase focus, increase relaxation, lower nervousness/anxiousness, improve mood, decrease general pain, aide in sleep, and decrease intensity/frequency of migraines. Our clients have also reported many other benefits, but those are the most common.
What happens in a Reiki session?
The client remains fully clothed during the session. We ask that clients remove their shoes and jewelry during treatment. Typically, client's will lie on a Reiki table, however; if that is not comfortable for the client, then the client will remain in a seated position. Typically, the session is performed with the practitioner using a "laying of hands" technique, however; if that is not comfortable for the client, then the session can be performed with no physical contact. Sessions are about 1 hour long. The first session will include a brief discussion which lasts about 20 minutes before the treatment begins. Email info@windingroads.org with any other questions that arise. We are happy to answer questions!
Client/Practitioner Rights:
All of our client’s information is private. We do not release client information unless there is written permission from the client. Reiki is not a substitute for medical or psychological care, and our practitioners do not diagnose or attempt to replace such care. If there is a medical condition or mental health disorder, then our practitioners ask that clients please consult a licensed medical physician or psychologist for care. We will be happy to provide Reiki in addition to the medical/mental health care; however the licensed medical physician or psychiatrist should be the main adviser in the client’s care. Reiki does not interfere with or replace a licensed medical provider or psychiatrist.
We look forward to sharing this wellness experience with you!
Well Wishes,
